VietLex — Privacy Policy

VietLex helps you learn Vietnamese vocabulary. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.

What we collect

• Account info — when you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address and, if you use Google or Apple sign-in, the basic profile they return. We use this only to identify your account and sync your progress.
• Learning data — the words you've studied, your review schedule, streaks, and activity history, so your progress follows you across devices.

What we do NOT collect

• No advertising identifiers and no third-party ad tracking.
• No payment card details — subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card or billing information.
• Text-to-speech runs on your device; we don't record or upload audio.

Where your data lives

Learning data is stored in a managed MongoDB Atlas database. Authentication data is held by Clerk. Both are industry-standard providers with encryption in transit.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your learning data from our database and deletes your sign-in identity. You may also email us to request deletion.

Children

VietLex is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
